Meet the Team
Dr. Jordan Phillips
Veterinarian
Dr. Jordan joined the staff at Phillips Animal Hospital after graduating from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM degree in 2012. He also has a BSS in Chemistry from Huntington University. His interests include radiology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, disc golf, gardening and other outdoor activities. Dr. Jordan has two pitbulls (Yoko, Simone), and three cats (Zuko, Ron, and Horus).
Dr. Alyssa Paulo
Veterinarian
Dr. Alyssa graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a Pre-Veterinary Concentration with a minor in Chemistry. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in May of 2021 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She also is Fear Free Certified.
She enjoys spending time with her husband Anthony, her 4-year-old Australian Shepherd Brody who she got her first year of vet school, friends, family, and pets and being outside. She loves getting to know all of the clients and helping them provide the best care for their fur babies!
Dr. Mackenzie Benton
Veterinarian
Dr. Mackenzie grew up in nearby Ashland and graduated from The University of Findlay with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Concentration with minors in both Chemistry and Biology. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2026 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Mackenzie enjoys spending time with her family and Lola, her 5-year-old Pomeranian/Husky mix. In her free time, she loves to be outside (hiking, kayaking, yard work), playing cards and games, thrifting, reading, and getting together with her friends.
Dr. Maya Wisdom
Veterinarian
Dr. Maya grew up here in Mansfield. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. She then graduated in the same class as Dr. Alyssa from Lincoln Memorial University in 2021 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After vet school, she completed a 1-year internship program at Equine Specialty Hospital before returning back to small animal medicine.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and raising and showing her horses.
Dr. Cheryl Becker
Veterinarian
Dr. Cheryl is the owner of Mohican Veterinary Wellness located in the lower level of the Phillips Animal Hospital building. One day a week she practices western veterinary medicine at our clinic and the rest of the week she practices at her clinic downstairs.
She has been a small animal practitioner since graduating from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She attended the University of Tennessee Canine Physical Rehabilitation Program and obtained a certification in canine rehabilitation (CCRP) in 2011. Two years later she became certified in veterinary acupuncture (CVA), studying under Dr. Huisheng Xie at the Chi University.
She earned her certification in veterinary Chinese herbal medicine (CVCHM), a discipline taught by Dr. Steve Marsden through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Also, through the Integrative Veterinary Medical Institute, she is certified to perform veterinary medical manipulation (CVMMP), which is the veterinary equivalent to human chiropractic care.
She enjoys family time by attending her son's baseball games, gardening, and participating in almost any activity outside, especially hiking in Mohican State Park.
